Trust. It is a big assed change because throughout the interwebs there are blog posts about this conversation and about Short acknowledging the power of words to influence young men around non consensual sexual practices.
Being willing to admit publicly that you have fucked up creates space for other people to do the same. In some ways this is how cultural shifts happen.
